COURSE OVERVIEW

More than $50 billion each year is spent in the U.S. in an effort to treat back pain. Furthermore, it is estimated annually that over 1 million of the 31 million Americans who suffer with back pain incurred the injury in the workplace. This course shows how and why many of these workplace back injuries can be prevented or mitigated when employees have a basic understating of back safety practices. Beginning with a clear explanation of how the back works and how it is strained, this course illustrates the right and wrong ways for employees to move, sit, stand, and lift to protect their backs and prevent injuries. Use this course to help employees immediately adjust their daily work activities, from sitting and standing to lifting and moving, to preempt back injuries and avoid missed days of work, lost wages, and decreased productivity..
