COURSE OVERVIEW


This course, first in a series of five oil spill video training programs for response efforts, provides an overview of factors to consider during the oil spill response. The viewer learns how oil spills commonly occur and reviews factors to consider during the response. The program differentiates oil types, including gasoline, jet fuel, naphtha, gasoline, diesel fuels, asphalt, and crude oil. Additional topics include the hazards associated with oil spills, agencies to notify, factors that affect oil spill behavior, site control, and responder safety..
